Ben Waddell is an entry-level professional racing in national-level multiclass endurance and sprint championships in the United States. Graded FIA Silver, he competes primarily in IMSA Pilot Challenge for Forty7 Motorsports, driving GT4-level production sports cars and TCR touring cars in shared-driver endurance races. His racing spans from 2018 through the current 2026 season.[1]
Across five seasons and 17 starts, Waddell holds two wins and four podiums. He took both wins early in his career in the Lucas Oil Formula Car Race Series in 2018, driving solo in formula cars, before moving into IMSA's multiclass endurance grids. In IMSA Pilot Challenge he has recorded one podium across six starts with Forty7 Motorsports; he also contested IMSA Prototype Challenge in an LMP3 prototype across four starts in 2018 and 2019. His current season with Stratus Racing in the Zenith Racing Series has produced one podium so far from two rounds, leaving him 18th in the championship standings as further rounds approach.[2]
His regular opponents include Dakota Dickerson, a professional and 2019 Formula Regional Americas champion who remains closely matched with him, and Stephen Simpson, a more established IMSA competitor with 61 starts in Pilot Challenge who typically finishes ahead. Waddell has beaten Russell Ward, the 2024 and 2025 IMSA WeatherTech GTD champion, once in their meetings, and Kenton Koch, an FIA Gold professional who won the 2017 IMSA Prototype Challenge LMP3 title and holds 2025 GT World Challenge and GT4 America championships, twice across their encounters.
