Frank Kechele is a German semi-professional racing driver who competes in multiclass endurance racing. Graded FIA Silver, he races shared GT3 cars and one-make cup machinery in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie for GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG and has raced in the 24H Series. He also contested the Formula Renault Eurocup as a single-seater driver early in his career with Motopark Academy.[1]
Kechele's indexed record spans 2004 to 2021 across 22 starts, with one podium finish from his time in the Formula Renault Eurocup. In endurance racing, he took a tenth-place championship position in the 2021 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. His most significant single-seater season came in the Formula Renault Eurocup between 2004 and 2007, racing for Motopark Academy in a mixed field that included future Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo and Brendon Hartley, a latter-day WEC champion and Le Mans 24 Hours winner; Kechele finished ahead of both drivers in individual races. He also regularly outfinished Formula Renault regulars including Tobias Hegewald and Oliver Oakes, both of whom contested GP3 Series later in their careers.[2]
