Jacques Isler was a professional racing driver competing in Formula 3 Macau, a single-class championship mixing amateur, semi-professional and graded professional drivers in the same field. He raced for Isler Racing across three seasons from 1989 to 1992, accumulating nine starts in the series.[1]
Isler's record in Formula 3 Macau placed him mid-field against the established professionals and graded drivers who made up the backbone of the championship. He regularly finished behind Rickard Rydell, a World Touring Car Championship competitor, and Naoki Hattori, a Bronze-graded professional. His strongest performances came against Olivier Panis, whom he beat three times across their meetings; Panis went on to race Formula 1 and International Formula 3000. Isler also finished ahead of Mika Häkkinen on one occasion, though Häkkinen would become a two-time Formula 1 world champion. Isler Racing, the team that fielded him for six of his nine starts, never won a race in the indexed results and operated as a small single-driver operation.[2]
