During his single-seater career, he occasionally finished ahead of drivers of significantly higher standing, including Eddie Johnson, Jimmy Bryan, Johnnie Parsons, and Pat O'Connor, each on isolated occasions. He spent most of his Formula 1 effort with Kurtis Kraft, which fielded him in four of his five starts; that constructor won five races across its history and counted Jim Rathmann among its stronger drivers.[1]
