Cuth Harrison was a British racing driver who competed in Formula 1 during the championship's inaugural season in 1950. He made three World Championship Grand Prix starts for ERA, a legendary pre-war English constructor, but did not score points or finish on the podium in any of them. His single season of racing on record was brief and unfruitful at the highest level of motorsport.[1]
Harrison's three starts produced an average finish of seventh, which places him among the middle order of the 1950 grid. He finished ahead of several established competitors on individual occasions, including Philippe Étancelin and Johnny Claes, both rated substantially higher than his own standing of 3,887 and drawn from professional-level fields. ERA itself remained winless across its entire index history and fielded only seven drivers, the strongest of whom was Stirling Moss. Harrison's brief involvement in the nascent Formula 1 World Championship ended after 1950, and he subsequently left racing to establish the T.C. Harrison Ford dealership in his native Sheffield.[2]
