Hakon Schjaerin was a competitive amateur racing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a national multiclass endurance championship where production-based turbocharged race cars in the SP 3T class share grids with stronger machinery and field a mix of amateur, semi-professional and professional drivers. He raced for Car #334 across six seasons between 2010 and 2015.[1]
Schjaerin took five wins and eleven podiums from twenty-two starts in the series. His most recent season, 2015, yielded one win and one podium from a single round. Over his career he was a regular opponent for Matthias Wasel, a competitive amateur with over sixty Nürburgring starts to his name, and Thomas Wasel, a club-level driver, and ran closely matched against both. Among his results was a finish ahead of Christian Krognes, the 2012 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie SP 3T champion, whom he beat twice across their meetings in the series.[2]
