🇯🇵 Jann Mardenborough

Jann Mardenborough is an established professional racing driver competing in GT World Challenge Europe for HRT Ford Performance, holding an FIA Gold grading in sportscar and endurance racing. He came up through junior single-seater racing in 2013 and has spent most of his career in Super GT, the championship in which he scored his sole win. He has raced across multiple disciplines including the World Endurance Championship, GP3 Series and FIA Formula 3 European, alongside one-off appearances in higher-profile series.[1]

His record across 103 starts spans a decade. In junior formulas, he took four podiums in GP3 from 2014 to 2015 and one win, competing for Carlin; he also contested the FIA Formula 3 European in 2013 and appeared briefly in GP2 and the WEC. Super GT consumed the bulk of his career from 2016 to 2020 with 39 starts for Kondo Racing, yielding one win and three podiums. He has raced in shared-car endurance series including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he finished on the podium, and the British GT Championship, where he took another podium in a single 2024 outing. His most recent activity came in 2015 WEC competition, though he has resumed racing in GT World Challenge Europe in 2024 and 2025.[2]

In the junior formulas and on the one-off endurance entries where he has met drivers of higher calibre, Mardenborough has finished ahead of Alex Palou, the five-time IndyCar champion, and Esteban Ocon, the 2014 Formula 3 European champion and later Formula 1 driver. His regular opponents in his most competitive seasons have been Alex Lynn and Nick Cassidy, both FIA Platinum graded established professionals with championship pedigree; Mardenborough typically finished behind them in those encounters.
