Marc Drumwright is a professional racing driver who competed in IMSA WeatherTech, a multiclass endurance championship in which drivers share cars across long-distance races. He drove Oreca FLM09 prototypes in the PC class for BAR1 Motorsports, a team that fielded established professionals including the former Formula 1 driver John Falb.[1]
Drumwright's indexed career spans three seasons from 2014 to 2017, with six starts in IMSA WeatherTech and one podium finish. He finished 13th in the championship standings in his final season in 2017.[2]
His regular opponents included established professionals of considerably higher standing. Christian Fittipaldi, a 1991 International Formula 3000 champion and 2014 IMSA WeatherTech champion, and Renger van der Zande, the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech PC champion, were both regular competitors in the same series; Drumwright typically finished behind them. He finished ahead of Kevin Estre, a two-time WEC champion, once, and of Max Angelelli once across his career.
