🇺🇸 Roger Yasukawa

Roger Yasukawa is an established professional who raced in IndyCar, the top single-seater championship in the United States, for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing across eight seasons from 2003 to 2010. He started forty races, competing primarily on oval circuits, which made up 38 of his starts; the remainder were on road and street courses.[1]

Yasukawa's career was spent as a mid-field regular in a field that ranged from amateurs to Platinum-graded professionals. He typically finished behind the series' strongest drivers. Scott Dixon, a six-time IndyCar champion, and Helio Castroneves, a world endurance champion, were regular opponents who almost consistently outran him. He occasionally finished ahead of established professionals; he beat Dario Franchitti three times, and Mike Conway once, though both would go on to significant achievements in their own series.[2]

His single-seater racing record ended in 2010. Outside racing, Yasukawa later worked as a driver coach in IndyCar, notably helping develop Alex Palou in the years before Palou's emergence as a four-time series champion.
