GT4 America is an endurance sports car racing series that runs GT4 cars in a pro-am structure. Its professional class, comprising Silver-graded drivers and some Gold-rated drivers, competes alongside a mixed Silver and Bronze amateur class and a Bronze-dominated gentleman-driver class. The series fields drivers of entry-level professional and amateur standing; its median driver sits well below established professional calibre, and its strongest field sits modestly below that of IMSA Pilot Challenge, its closest peer. Drivers arrive chiefly from NASA and IMSA Pilot Challenge at similar levels, and move on to GT World Challenge America and other higher-tier endurance and sportscar championships. The series functions as both a stepping stone for drivers developing toward the top of IMSA and a destination where amateur racers with sportscar experience settle.
