The IMSA Pilot Challenge is an endurance sportscar series running GT4-level production-based sports cars in its GS class and TCR touring cars in its TCR class. The field is professional and amateur mixed; the GS class fields predominantly Silver-graded drivers with a substantial Bronze contingent, while the TCR class skews slightly younger and more amateur. Top drivers include Sammy Smith, Nolan Siegel, and Guilherme Salas. The series functions as a stepping stone into higher-level IMSA competition, with drivers regularly moving up to the WeatherTech Championship and IMSA's prototype categories; it also feeds to peer-level GT and endurance series like GT4 America and the 24H Series. Drivers arrive from varied backgrounds spanning club racing, amateur circuits like NASA and PCA, and junior open-wheel through SKUSA SuperNationals.
