Aleix Alcaraz was a professional single-seater driver who raced in open-wheel championships across Europe between 2006 and 2008. He competed in the Formula Renault Eurocup for District Racing in 2006 and 2007, then moved to Formula V8 3.5 with Pons Racing in 2008, his final season of racing.[1]
In Formula V8 3.5 he finished 24th in the championship standings. Across his career he was closely matched with Alexandre Marsoin, a regular opponent at his own level, though he typically finished behind Charles Pic, an established professional who went on to race in Formula 1 and GP2. He finished ahead of Daniel Ricciardo, an elite professional and 2010 Formula V8 3.5 champion, on three occasions, and beat Edoardo Mortara, who became a multiple champion in Formula 3 and later raced in Formula E, once.[2]
Alcaraz's racing took place in mixed fields that included semi-professional entrants and graded professionals together. He held his own against drivers at his own level and occasionally against stronger competition, though his record shows he did not sustain a path into the upper tier of professional racing.
