Kristian Kolby is a Danish racing driver who competed in International Formula 3000, a single-class open-wheel championship that ran drivers from amateur through professional level in the same field. He raced for DAMS across nine starts between 2000 and 2002, finishing 18th in the championship standings in his final season.[1]
Kolby's indexed record spans two seasons in F3000. He was a regular opponent for established professionals Sebastien Bourdais, who won the 2002 F3000 championship, and Tomas Enge, a former IndyCar and GT driver; he finished closely matched with Bourdais across their meetings but usually behind Enge. His strongest results came against drivers who went on to much higher levels of motorsport; he finished ahead of Mark Webber, later a multiple Le Mans winner and 217-time Formula 1 starter, and Thed Bjork, who would become 2017 World Touring Car champion.[2]
