Shinsuke Shibahara was a professional racing driver competing in Japanese national endurance racing. He raced in Super GT's GT300 class for Willcom R&D Sport in 2008, driving a mix of FIA GT3 and Japanese-built GT300 specification cars in multiclass competition where amateurs and professionals shared the same grid.[1]
His indexed career comprises one season, 2008, with five starts in Super GT's GT300 class. He took one podium finish and ended the season 18th in the championship standings. His teammates and regular competitors included Nobuteru Taniguchi, a three-time GT300 champion and established professional, against whom Shibahara was closely matched, and Kazuki Hoshino, the 2010 GT300 champion; Shibahara typically finished behind Hoshino. He finished ahead of Yuhi Sekiguchi, an established professional and Gold-graded driver who went on to win the Super GT GT500 championship in 2021, and Hiroaki Ishiura, a Platinum-graded established professional.[2]
