🇯🇵 Kakunoshin Ohta

Kakunoshin Ohta is a Japanese racing driver who has built his career around Honda Motor Company backing, competing in Super GT and Super Formula in Japan alongside sports car programs in North America with Acura Meyer Shank Racing and Era Motorsport across the GTP and LMP2 classes. That grounding in top-level Japanese single-seater and GT competition, combined with experience in IMSA's prototype ranks, has provided the foundation for his move into the World Endurance Championship. He currently competes in WEC with Proton Competition, representing the team as an active driver in the series.[1]

Through eight career starts in the WEC, Ohta has yet to record a win, podium, or championship, and his Racer Rating of 4,807 places him 288th among active drivers on the Elo-style scale used to compare competitors across series. In the 2026 season, he has taken part in one round without a win or podium, sitting 140th in the standings at this stage. His record so far reflects a driver still establishing himself at this level of endurance racing, with his broader multi-series background in Japan and North America underpinning his development within the Proton Competition squad.[2]
