🇯🇵 Kakunoshin Ohta

Kakunoshin Ohta is an elite professional racing driver and FIA Gold graded competitor for Honda Motor Company. He races primarily in Super Formula, a single-class Japanese national championship, for DoCoMo Team Dandelion Racing, piloting a Honda-powered M-TEC chassis. He also competes in Super GT, a multiclass endurance series where he shares a Honda with teammates in the GT500 class, and has undertaken international endurance racing with Acura Meyer Shank Racing in the IMSA WeatherTech Championship and Proton Competition in the World Endurance Championship.[1]

Over five seasons beginning in 2022, Ohta has taken 11 wins and 29 podiums across 91 starts. His principal platform is Super Formula, where he has contested 39 races since 2023 and scored seven wins and eleven podiums; he is currently mid-season in 2026 at that level. In Super GT, he has five podium finishes from 28 shared-car starts in the GT500 class. His development in single-seaters came through Super Formula Lights in 2022, where he won four races and took twelve podiums from sixteen starts for Toda Racing. His endurance racing record spans seven IMSA starts since 2025 with one podium and a single WEC entry so far in 2026.[2]

In Super Formula, Ohta is closely matched with the series' elite: he races regularly against Sho Tsuboi, a four-time Super Formula or Super GT champion and FIA Platinum graded driver with 70 Super Formula starts, and Tadasuke Makino, a 2020 Super GT champion and Gold-graded professional with 67 Super Formula starts. He has finished ahead of Liam Lawson twice, a Platinum-graded driver with 51 Formula 1 starts and 51 Formula 2 starts. The field in both Super Formula and Super GT mixes amateur and semi-professional entrants with graded professionals throughout the grid.
