Trans-Am TA2 is a sprint series for tube-frame V8 silhouette cars, run as a single class. The field comprises mostly ungraded drivers with a minority of Silver and Bronze grades; these grades reflect only the handful who have competed in sportscar or endurance racing, and the series' true professional standing is shown in its strength of field, which places it squarely in the entry-level professional band. Top drivers include Brent Crews, Matthew Brabham, and Corey Day. The series functions as a two-way conduit on the racing ladder; drivers arrive from lower series such as NASA and the SKUSA SuperNationals, and from the peer series ARCA Menards, while others move on to higher-tier NASCAR Xfinity competition.
